AI Assisted UI / UX Design

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. How is AI utilized in the UI /UX space?

AI Assisted

WHAT’S changed in the UX/UI web design space?

AI topics permeate virtually every professional conversation, social media platform and tech news articles. Many despise the concept of software taking over creative tasks and others embrace the new AI technologies because they feel they have few choices. Many new powerful AI tools have emerged for creative design, UI/UX, web design, and 3D rendering. Major platforms integrate artificial intelligence directly into their creative suites to generate layouts, edit assets, and turn text prompts into visual concepts.

According to Fast Company, the popular, web-based digital design and collaboration tool Figma, at odds with Anthropic’s Claude AI platform, just held a funeral citing the “Design is Dead, Long Live Design!” with a live memorial in NYC.

AI is like your college nephew “Artie” who’s incredibly eager to help when asked and is very, very smart. But Artie is just an assistant right now because he doesn’t completely understand what you need to get done, he cannot be left alone on a project and he definitely can’t complete a project on his own.

In contrast, recently published data in the “State of Sites ’26” from Framer reveals that most Digital projects are using AI only to start UI/UX projects including copywriting, design / layout and code while the iterations that continue are entirely dominated by human efforts (for now, anyway).

Effectively, AI is a helpful assistant to designers. It can help to start Digital Media Marketing but cannot finish them. Here at METAPH4, we are using AI to begin building copy, images and code but to achieve results, our staff perfect the projects that we use AI to start.
